Amy's Martial Arts Ad

Image
I designed this character for a client of a martial arts studio a long time ago, (I'm talking high school before I had taken any anatomy classes.  Hint.  Hint.) and thought I'd pick it up again to try some animation with it. This is a start of what I had in mind as far as the movement and timing, so the model is not at all detailed, or perhaps even proportionally correct in some places in this stage.  As part as my animation process, it's just how I roll. ;)

I'm still playing around with the color on this one, but this is one of the villains my niece had come up with.  Transformative ice powers to go up against her fire.  Typical, right?

This is one of my niece's friends depicted in superhero mode. I know she looks perfectly normal here, but my niece always imagined that if she goes fast enough on her roller-blades, she can teleport long distances, or perhaps even travel through time.  Still working that one out with her, but it's still kind of fun to think about.

Nephew's Preferred Version First Pass Version Sooooo...my niece's younger brother found out that I had made a superhero version of her and, as can be expected, he wanted in on the action.  So he asked me to do one of him with lightning powers. This one took a bit more thought because my nephew, unlike his artist of a big sister who knew exactly what she wanted, he wasn't quite sure what his character would look like until I drew up some concepts for him to kind of pick-and-choose from.  This is what we came up with. P.S. Which version do you like best?

Lately, my nine-year-old niece has been imagining herself and a group of her friends from school with superpowers and asked me to illustrate them for her. As a start to this new series of posts, this is a depiction of her little red-headed self with fire powers. Typical, right?  ^_^
