Inspiration Everywhere (Pt. 3)

Image
Have you ever just stared at a wall and found faces or other cool/odd shapes just within the wall's texture?  This "Robot Witch" has been a reoccurring character in a spot on my ceiling for a while now.

How many cartoon faces can you find in the fabric pattern of a simple pillowcase? How many more can you find when flipping that same pillowcase upside down?

Remember when you were little and couldn't sleep at night because you thought you were seeing monsters in the shadows in your room?  Well.  Who else has realized that that can actually be used in your adult life for crazy character design ideas?  And I mean crazy !

Dads For Biggest Fans

Image
This little cartoon is a tribute to my father I did for his birthday recently, depicting an event from my childhood.  (And with no exaggeration, I might add.) ;)  Back then, I managed to snag a lead roll in my school play.  During the curtain call, I cringed in embarrassment in seeing my dad standing tall among the audience, waving a big homemade paper banner with my name on it, shouting out to me with his reputably carrying voice.  Later, in the green room, another girl from the play came up to me, asking if it was my dad waving the banner.  After mumbling in confirmation, (Since my name being on the banner made it too obvious to try denying it) I was sure she was going to laugh and make fun of me for being related to the man who had made a complete spectacle of himself.  However, to my surprise, she simply said, "I wish my dad did that," and walked away.... Regarding my Absence

Hey there, viewers! Sorry for the long gap.  During this past year, I've had a baby, which comes with all sorts of health and scheduling conflicts right along with some newest greatest moments in my personal life that could not be passed up, which, as you can imagine, interfered with my ability to do much of any art at all.  But now I've finally gotten things to a more manageable point enough for me to start picking up my sketchbook again. I'll be posting some new stuff next week.  Though, as it's been a while since I've done anything new, don't be surprised that it might start off being a bit different than what I've done in the past.  Just a warning. Catch you later. ;)

Amy's Martial Arts Ad

Image
I designed this character for a client of a martial arts studio a long time ago, (I'm talking high school before I had taken any anatomy classes.  Hint.  Hint.) and thought I'd pick it up again to try some animation with it. This is a start of what I had in mind as far as the movement and timing, so the model is not at all detailed, or perhaps even proportionally correct in some places in this stage.  As part as my animation process, it's just how I roll. ;)
